After 15 years on Arsenal club board and 7 years as chairman Sir Chips Keswick has retired at the age of 80. He is a lifelong fan of Arsenal and he intended to retire at the end of season before corona virus brought unprecedented time break.
In his statement he said it had been an honor to replace the former arsenal chairman peter hill-wood and to serve one of the greatest football clubs in the world. He stated that he will always be a fan for the club holds a special place in his life.
Arsenal owners Stan and Josh Kroenke shared gratitude for everything Sir Chips helped the club achieve and it was a privilege to have worked with him. They have promised him that he will always be welcomed when the playing matches return to emirates stadium.
Moving forward there is no news on a possible replacement but the owners added the primary goal during this pandemic period is to ensure the well-being to all staffs and players. They also hope the club emerges from corona crisis in a stronger position and are working every day to achieve that.
Most fans are happy with the news and expressed their mixed reaction towards the news of most criticizing the chairman value for the past 7 years. Others defended him in the name of blame the owners while others were happy, he was out. One fan was critical by cushioning his other arsenal fans to expect a down hill but his comment was shrugged off.
