The Merseyside derby on June 21 is likely to take place in Wembley or S.T Mary’s stadium Southampton ground with Liverpool potentially sealing the premier league after the match. With alerts already raised on the insecurity of holding the match at Everton’s Goodison park given the fans rivalry and potential premier league title win for Liverpool.
After premier league clubs voted for the circumstances that may force a game to be played on a neutral ground as a contingency king power stadium has also been listed as potential host. The worry is if Liverpool could seal the title at Goodson pa Goodison park the fans may congregate and break social distance rule.
The local police have raised issue on basis if large group congregates and its not based on crimes that may arise whereas the Liverpool mayor Joe Anderson is not objected to having the game at either Everton or Liverpool’s grounds.
A safety advisory group has already been formed with deputy mayor Wendy Simon already in the team and if Manchester City win against Arsenal the risk will be reduced and game can be held at Goodison park. Premier League will confirm plans after Thursday’s 11th June shareholders meeting in any events that might arise for the remaining 92 fixtures.
